We have made a commitment to support what we feel to be worthy causes. To date we have been supporting two organizations that we feel are making a difference in the lives of those that they serve. Our customers make it possible for us support these organizations - for that we thank you.
Autism Speaks.org
Today, over 70 million children and adults are affected by autism. Each of them, have unique strengths, challenges and potential. Autism Speaks will be there for them. You and I can be too.
Until a few years ago we really did not understand what Autism was. Sure we had heard the term, but we didn't have a clear understanding of Autism and the effect it has on families. Then our grandson was diagnosed with autism. Of course, we immediately wanted to know more about it. We found the answers to many of our questions from my grandson's awesome parents and Autism Speaks.org. Autism Speaks offers so many resources and support for individuals with Autism and their loved ones. Our grandson is truly a blessing to our family. He has opened our eyes to see so many things in a different way - he is truly amazing!
There are so many individuals and families who rely on the work of Autism Speaks.org. It is only through the dedicated support of people like you and me that Autism Speaks can continue their vital mission work. Each year, the Autism Speaks Autism Response Team makes direct contact with tens of thousands of individuals looking for advice or guidance and more than one million people access their free nationwide autism services and resources. They continue to partner and support research to improve the lives of people with autism by investing in science that will allow more personalized treatments and therapies. Planting Seeds of Change: Trees For Education
At Imani Christian Schools, we are helping to sow the seeds of a brighter future for education and sustainability in Embu, Kenya.
Artisan Java Tea helps fund Trees For Education with a $0.50 seedling donation for each Specialty Coffee or Artisan Tea bag sold on our ecommerce store.
This initiative is part of the UNASDG's comprehensive approach to fund education and tackle Sustainable Development Goals. Through programs like this, we're generating vital funding to support education and other essential areas as outlined in SDG's goals.
So how are we doing this? By planting SEEDS to grow Trees. Artisan Java Tea has committed to donate a $0.50 seedling for every Specialty Coffee or Artisan Tea sold through our ecommerce store. These seedlings will be raised in the nursery and then planted by an Imani student who volunteers to participate. 100% of that funding goes to the program and that tree will directly offset the farm-to-cup footprint of 1 lb of coffee. Then after a year, that tree will be included in an international program that leverages the International Carbon Market through the UNASDG which directly funds the education of the children at Imani.
